WHY I BELIEVE THAT HARD WORK PAYS OFF.

I recently landed my dream job. It's taken me a long time to get here, but I can honestly say that I've never been happier. I have a Marketing degree from The University of Manchester and after some time working everywhere but a marketing agency (I had to pay the bills somehow), I FINALLY got my shot. I am now very happy with my work and the changes it's made to my life. Instead of just having a job, I now have a career path.

I've done it all, an internship in Spain (unpaid may I add - I have so much love for my mum for supporting me through that,  just so that I get some Marketing experience). At the time I kept getting job rejections because I didn't have enough experience, but no one thought it wise to give me a chance so that I could gain the experience that they wanted. Being in Spain was a whirlwind, I learnt a lot, but it wasn't easy, as I had limited funds; I was living on student funds, but just didn't have the student life bit.  After I came back to England I took on some office jobs (none in Marketing though - we all have bills to pay - you know the drill). I then got a job a few year later working in client services (it was marketing based this time - yay!) - this equipment me with the experience required to get my job now.

Alternatively, one of the best pieces of advise that I've read from some of my favourite bloggers is that how their blogs have helped to land them their dream jobs. I've never really told people that I blog, aside from some close friends and family I never mention my blog. I'm sure people knew, I mean if you google my name it's one of the top results that pop up on Goggle, but because I never mentioned it they never did either. I've found that the sentence 'I'm a blogger' is met with the same look your parents give you when you tell them you want to do Art as a degree - it's aways a very VERY awkward situation to be in. Blogging is hard work and takes up a lot of you time, so if this hard work can help you to get to where you want to be then... tell the world - BE BRAVE.

In a nutshell, I guess what I'm trying to say that just because something that you really want doesn't happen straight away, it doesn't mean that it's never going to happen. Be patient, work hard and after you get what you want, be humble. (sit down...
