DON’T DISMISS INSTA STORIES:

Instagram stories allows you to be more personal with your followers. I especially enjoy watching Instastories because it allows me to see what the individuals I follow are up to on a daily, basis. It’s sort of a behind the scenes access platform that allows followers to gain a real insight to bloggers/YouTubers lives. If you’re a blogger and you aren’t on YouTube(don’t vlog or anything like that) then this is great for you because it allows you to shoot short snippets that show off your personality and show your followers the real you and not the perfectly put together in blogpost images version of you that they normally see (let be honest, no one looks like they do in blog pictures 24/7), it’s sort of a Youtube vlog, but on Insta.

Insta stories is also great because it’s a potential way to beat the Algorithm. If you’ve got a new Instagram post/blog post that you want to make your followers aware of then this is the place to do it. The Instagram Algorithm is meant to filter feeds and show users the posts that it determines they’ll be the ‘most’ interested in seeing at the top of their feeds, which means that some posts can easily be missed. Adding announcement such as new posts on Instastories is a wonderful backup to ensure that your posts are not missed.  It’s a real game changer.

NOT KNOWING THE PRIME TIME FOR YOUR INSTA POSTS.

“Patience is power.
Patience is not an absence of action;
rather it is "timing"
it waits on the right time to act,
for the right principles
and in the right way.”

The above is one of my favourite quotes ever. I am a genuine believer in the mind-frame that everything happens in it’s own time, so why not Instagram posts?! I have worked out when my posts get the highest responses from my lovely followers through I noticing that I get the most engagement on weekends, so I try to post as much as possible then. I also get the most engagement on Sunday’s at about 9.10pm, as I noticed that people will do anything to take their minds off having to think about going to work, so.... enter my new post! I also use specialised apps to help me to determine the best ROI on posting and a fave app of mine would have to be ‘Prime’. It’s great because it works out from past post results, the best post times that WILL provide me with results.

DON’T LEAVE YOUR PERSONALITY AT THE DOOR.

The best Instagram accounts tend to be the ones with funny/alluring captions. I can’t hate on a good caption, in fact it makes me pay attention to that particular blogger's post again and again. I admit that my captions aren’t the best, but no ones really are when you are being yourself, obviously some people have more to say than others, and that ok, as long as you are being true to yourself and your followers and showing through showing them who you are (especially when it comes to showing off that awkward personality of yours). At the end of the day your audience will appreciate your boldness and enjoy your posts that much more. Likability is also very important; consumers choose to work with people and businesses that they know, like, and trust. When you have a blog, you humanize your brand and help them feel like they’re getting to know you.
