I fell in love with the visual side of blogging very quickly and photography became and still is one of my most favourite things about my blog.  I have been blogging for some time now and am still working on getting my strategy  right, but I though it a great idea to share with you all how I have been making my weekly posts happened so far.

USE YOUR WEEKENDS: I make the most of my weekends. Blogging isn't like a 9-5 , it's more like a 24/7 job.  I always ensure that I take photos on the weekend and will often wake up at 7am to get to my shooting locations before it gets too busy. I wish that I could be one of those bloggers who completely do not mind when a lot of people are around as they shoot, but I get a little shy so this works for me. After shooting I have to dedicate the rest of my weekend to editing the photos and creating the content that I want to publish.

PHOTOGRAPH IN BULK: After a long day at work, the only thing that I am thinking about  is getting home, staying in and doing absolutely nothing. I'm always so tired and the thought of getting ready to go out again to shoot blog photos again would be like working a second shift. I tend to shoot at least two looks in one phototaking session. This means that I have end up with twice the content and this can take the pressure off having to produce content during the week. I mean I love blogging and it is one of the things that makes me the happiest in this world, but not after work! lol It's also because of this love I always try to ensure that I continuously  produce content to post on weekends so that I can take my time and it's just right.

BOOK A DAY OFF: At times if I find that I have made too many commitments and find that I have a lot to do and very little time get it all done. In an effort to produce high quality content and to ensure that everything is done to a standard that I am proud of without jeopardising my concentration and productivity at work I actually just book a day off work every now and then, to give me an entire day to dedicate to getting blog jobs done.

DON'T STRESS, IT'S A HOBBY: Obviously, if I ever have the opportunity to get into blogging full time, then I will (happily). Until this happens however, I always try to remind myself that I got into blogging because I love it and because of this I shouldn't let it be a source of stress. When it all get's too much I always try to take some time for myself - I am my own boss, I make the rules!

I’d love to hear of your tips & advice for juggling both work and blogging & know if any of my tips help you?

  1. Wow,thanks so much for sharing your tips. I am so glad that I am not the only one who is juggling a full-time job with blogging. I myself still don't have any tips as yet; I just try and use most of my spare time creating content for the blog and I must confess that it's draining sometimes - I love blogging so I like suing my time wisely lol.
