MAC STUDIO FIX FLUID FOUNDATION | REVIEW

STUDIO FIX FLUID FOUNDATION | MAC COSMETICS

I've been using the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation for about six years now and I can honestly say that I have never found anything that works on my skin better than this. The fact that I have used the foundation for years I think is great because it means that I haven't been using this for just five minutes and then decided to write a review on it.  I have tried other foundations over the years, but always find myself going back to my trusted MAC 'NC50' foundation.

I remember the first time I used it. I had a friend at University (for those of you who don't know, I graduated a few years ago from The University of Manchester) and she used to rave about MAC products and she used always say to me 'MAC is everything, it'll change your makeup game forever once you start using it'. I used to always dismiss her comments, because poor little deluded me didn't know any better than drugstore makeup and thought at the time that they were the holy grail of all makeup. One day she convinced me to go into the Manchester Selfridges MAC concession stand and have a free foundation tester done. Now this is no word of a lie, but I went in looking a mess (not literally a mess, but  yes in comparison to what I left looking like I did) and I left that store feeling myself and could not help but check myself out in every mirror that I walked past.

I have really oily skin and this foundation seems to be the only thing on this earth that can really control that, which is a main factor that I love about it. Along with this I love the fact that my face never breaks out when using the foundation and it's kinda bad to admit this, but even on the days that I'm too tired to take my makeup off and go sleep with it on my face, it's  always still perfectly fine the next day.  The Studio Fix Fluid Collection is a full coverage foundation, which is great because you can use little drops on your face and because the foundation is so think it will cover your face really well and this ultimately means that each bottle will last longer as you won't be using so much. The coverage is also great because it covers all imperfections on your skin amazingly and blend really well with the skin once you find the shade for you (I use NC50).

The foundation can be used straight from the bottle, or you can purchase a pump from MAC , it all just depends on your preferences. I use the pump because I like to suck the life out of my foundation bottle so that there literally nothing left in there so that every penny spent on the bottle is used.

Let me know if you have ever used this foundation? Or if you have any other recommendations I should try out, I'd love to know!

  1. I've always heard this is really bad for oily skin so I'm super surprised that you've said it controls yours! You look so pretty and glowy in it, I definitely have to give this a try now! x

    1. HI Gemma :)

I think that everyones skin reacts different to different things, so this might work for our skin, like it does for mine lovely. Definitely worth a try :) xx

  2. I always heard that MAC's foundation is on heavier side and cause breakout for oily skin so I stay away from it, I'm really surprised to read this! I guess different things work for different people, I'm glad it's working for you!

    1. Hi Dea :)

I've not heard too much negative stuff about their products and have always loved them from personal experience. I guess the best thing is to try a tester sample of small amounts on your face... see how that goes and go from there as everyones skin reacts differently. Have a great rest of the weekend! :) xx

  3. I have tried this years back, and even though I liked it it had a tendency to stick to my dry patches winter (my skin is combo/oily), so I moved on.

  4. It's good that you've found something that works well for you. I used to love this foundation and thought it worked well with my oily skin too but the colour always used to oxidise weirdly so my face would look a different colour at the end of the day! x

    1. Hey Lesley :)

Ooh really? That's a shame as I find it to match my skin colour perfectly. Out of curiosity what do you use now, that you found to match your skin better lovely? xo
